Afroin (pronounced “af-royn”) is a blockchain network and cryptocurrency that enables the buying and selling of commodities between unbanked producers and manufacturers worldwide. The Afroin project was inspired by the African continent, which brought about its birth and the name Afroin. The reason for this is because Africa has the largest but most disorganized and corrupt natural resources market in the world. Today, commodity trading in developing nations is heavily reliant on foreign trading firms due to rigid financial structures and inefficient trading methods. Our long term vision is to develop a decentralized commodity market that will help solve the numerous existing problems in the market. This will help reduce friction in international commerce, broaden the distribution of the gains from trade, and encourage higher economic growth.
