Backend and Frontend optimization for Vestwell

New York-based fintech company Vestwell identified that one-third of small US businesses had a big problem: the lack of a retirement savings plan due to high costs and administrative burden. To close the gap, it built a pioneering API-based technology that streamlines workplace investing programs.

The challenge

Powered by an ambitious plan to power 30 million companies nationwide, Vestwell enlisted Vention for a series of development projects that could improve the entire platform and enhance recordkeeping modules. Vestwell also relied on us to fold in high-stakes integrations with state retirement plans and the Voya and Franklin financial platforms.

Our impact

• We evaluated and refactored product code to increase agility, security, and development speed.
• We engineered three advanced recordkeeping modules and integrated existing infrastructure with third-party HR and payroll systems. 
• Having supported Vestwell since its Series A, we’ve watched the company grow into one of the top US digital recordkeeping providers. 
• In 2020, Vestwell reached 200 percent overall growth, followed by a $63M Series C in 2021 led by Wall Street giants such as Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley. 
• In 2022, Vestwell was on track to achieve 3x client growth.
